Torrentz.eu search engine shuts down mysteriously after KickassTorrents

Torrentz search engine down
After the shutdown of KickassTorrents a few days back post the seizure of its admin, Torrentz.eu has shut down. The largest search engine is bidding farewell to its billions of daily users.
At the time of writing this, the website is down. When you open the website, you can type in the Search bar but as soon as you hit the search button, you will see a message “Torrentz will always love you. Farewell.”
This is a big blow to millions of people who use to browse movies, music, and other stuff from the search engine. Along with the shutdown of Torrentz search engine, other domains related to it have also seized operation. This includes main .EU domain and its backups .ME, .CH, and .IN, as per Softpedia.

Meanwhile, it is not known as to why the website has been taken down, but it seems like the admin of Torrentz search engine has decided to do so to avoid getting into any legal situation.
To give you all a little brief about the website, Torrentz.eu was started in July 2003 by one individual named Flippy. What the site did was index torrents from different portals and aggregate them at one place. This made Torrentz.eu one of the best places for torrentors as they got everything under one shed. This also helped users download torrents with multiple trackers, speed up downloads, and prevent dead links.
Although it did not host torrents of its own, the site quickly became one of the world’s largest meta-search engines, indexing torrents from a wide variety of trackers and catering to millions of users each day.
The reasons for the shutdown are yet to be revealed. The only details available are a few mysterious lines of text referring to the site in past tense:
Torrentz was a free, fast and powerful meta-search engine combining results from dozens of search engines.
With Torrentz now virtually defunct, the torrent community has lost two of its largest sources in the window of less than three weeks.
In the case of KickassTorrents, it didn’t take long before a number of mirror sites surfaced on the Web, promptly filling up the gap the prominent tracker left. We’re yet to see whether similar circumstances will follow with Torrentz.
